The concept is to maybe encourage people to perhaps buy beverages packaged in glass or other more degradable materials. Plastic bottles don't decompose very well.

Also, most plasic water bottles are NOT made for more than one use. To find out more facts about this, you can look here: [link]

Wow. :wow: Great stamp! VERY informative! I support being green and recycling the plastic bottles I use. At least then, they won't end up in a landfill...I hope!

Thanks! I'm glad you like this one.

...Although, even after you recycle a plastic bottle, someone else may get a bottle that was made with your recycled bottle, and they may throw it in the trash. Buying fewer plastic bottles is better for the environment.

Not only that, but most plastic water bottles are meant to be used only once. You can ingest harmful chemicals if you reuse these plastic bottles. Unlike plastic, glass bottles can be used again and again without the health risks.

Also, in most modernized countries' tap water is generally just as safe as bottled water, if not safer. Tap water is also way less expensive than bottled water. Bottled water can be a real rip off.

That kind of surprised me too. I knew it takes a long time for plastic to decompose, but I didn't have any idea just how long!! A lot of plastic ends up in the ocean, too, for some reason. There, it breaks down into small granules like sand. Fish and sea bird eat these particles, and it can make them very sick because plastic can't be digested. Plastic... It just sits around almost forever taking up space.

If tap water was drinkable, I'd drink it. And for everyones information. Having a purifier doesn't do SQUAT! The water still tastes laced with led and god only knows what other contaminants. Water tastes best when it comes from natural springs. I recycle my bottles though. What more do ya want?

What about aluminum cans that I recycle?

The recycled bottles end up as new bottles, which 8 out of 10 end up in a landfill. Many end up in the ocean. And tap water, even though it may taste different is not any safer than tap. Most "spring water" is tap water. The tap water we have in industrialized nations is far better than the water from third world countries.
